Tiffany began her career with Easterseals Massachusetts’ (ESMA) Rehabilitation Services (RS) Department as a new graduate physical therapist (PT) in 2011. When she first started her career with ESMA, Tiffany provided physical therapy services in schools, day habilitation programs, nursing homes, and with home and hospital students. As a new graduate, Tiffany always knew she wanted to work in the pediatric field; however, after her first year working for ESMA, Tiffany excelled with the variety in her work week and could never choose just one setting! In the following years, Tiffany’s experience expanded to include home care, support for clients in group homes, as well as early intervention.
According to Tiffany, ESMA’s ability to provide an abundance of services and resources collaboratively is something that sets ESMA apart. Tiffany has been able to collaborate with various departments within ESMA to provide her clients with resources and support that help clients access and engage in their environment. Through a team approach, ESMA therapists can collaborate and support their clients, not just in a traditional rehabilitation manner, but in a larger, more meaningful way. This could include assistive technology, job training, and more.
As more physical therapists (PTs) and physical therapy assistants (PTAs) joined ESMA’s RS Department, Tiffany became a mentor to new therapists and helped support them early on in their careers with ESMA. Today, Tiffany continues to provide physical therapy services for clients in all settings and enjoys it as much as she did years ago; however, Tiffany now plays an instrumental role in the growth of the RS Department at ESMA. As the RS Department continued to grow, Tiffany was promoted to PT Clinical Supervisor, helping to support the PTs and PTAs to meet their professional goals while providing outstanding care for their clients. One of Tiffany’s favorite aspects of her job as PT Clinical Supervisor is being able to help ESMA’s PTs and PTAs grow professionally each year.
