Spooky Short Stories for Ages 18+

Designed for adults ages 18 and older who enjoy spooky stories and engaging discussion, this Speech and Language Pathologist-led group explores classic Halloween-themed, dystopian, and suspenseful short stories while building communication and cognitive-linguistic skills. Each week, participants will read or listen to a carefully selected story and engage in guided discussions and interactive activities focused on comprehension, critical thinking, and social communication.

Participants will examine themes, character motivations, symbolism, and plot development while sharing perspectives in a supportive group setting. Stories may include classics such as "The Tell-Tale Heart" by Edgar Allan Poe, "The Yellow Wallpaper" by Charlotte Perkins Gilman, "The Lottery" by Shirley Jackson, and "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" by Washington Irving.

Through engaging Halloween-inspired literature and themed activities, participants will strengthen communication skills while enjoying suspenseful stories and meaningful group discussions. Due to mature themes present in some of the selected works, this program is intended for adults ages 18 and older.
