Virtual Accessibility Training Series

This four-part training series is open to anyone learning to create digital content that is accessible and effective for all audiences. Participants will explore the fundamentals of digital accessibility and discover practical strategies for websites, documents, and digital marketing. They will gain skills and tools to make content usable, readable, and welcoming for people of all abilities.

Series Overview and Objectives

  • April 9: Accessibility for Content Creators, presented by Harvard University Digital Accessibility Services
    • This session provides an overview of digital accessibility and its importance for people with diverse abilities. Participants will review key policies and the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), learn practical essentials for creating accessible content, and explore simple ways to check content and access helpful resources.
  • May 14: Accessible Design Strategies for Websites and Documents, presented by Pedal Point Solutions
    • Participants will learn practical strategies for improving readability, structuring content, and designing inclusive, accessible images and text. Attendees will leave with techniques they can apply immediately to make websites and documents more usable.
  • June 11: Accessible Marketing for Email, Social Media, and Digital Outreach, presented by Pedal Point Solutions
    • This session explores how accessibility strengthens digital marketing and communications. Participants will learn strategies for creating accessible emails, social media posts, and multimedia content while reaching a broader audience.
  • September 10: Essentials for Accessible Material
    • Participants will review core principles for making websites and documents accessible, including structure, readability, images, color contrast, and inclusive design. Attendees will leave with practical reminders and techniques to ensure all materials are usable and welcoming.
