Horseback Riding & Horsemanship

Weekly horseback riding lessons, as well as unmounted horsemanship lessons, are available to all ages and riding backgrounds in a welcoming setting.

The Bridge Center offers traditional English and Western riding lessons for beginner and experienced equestrians, and adaptive riding lessons for children and adults with disabilities. Traditional and adaptive horsemanship lessons facilitate a partnership with the horse on the ground while enhancing communication and leadership skills. All lessons foster each participant's cognitive, emotional, physical, and social development. Equine-assisted activities improve a participant’s balance, coordination, strength, and executive functions.

The equines in the program are valuable motivators and partners. They live in the present and accept individuals exactly as they are. In turn, they appreciate kindness, patience, and flexibility. Through mounted and unmounted activities with equines, participants can improve their ability to adapt, communicate, initiate, self-regulate, and trust.

Lessons are conducted year-round in a spacious indoor arena, a lighted outdoor arena, and an outdoor obstacle square. Participants and horses also use an outdoor track and multiple interactive exploration paths around the grounds.

Private Lesson Fees

  • 30 minutes: $78 per lesson, effective August 26, 2025
  • 45 minutes: $88 per lesson, effective August 26, 2025
  • 60 minutes: $108 per lesson, effective August 26, 2025

Current and Upcoming Terms:

  • Fall 2: Tuesday, October 28 - Monday, December 22, 2025 (no sessions 11/27-28).
  • Winter: Saturday, January 3- Friday, February 13, 2026 (no sessions 2/15-2/21).
  • Spring 1: Sunday, February 22- Friday, May 1, 2026 (no sessions Sunday 4/5 or 4/19-4/25).
  • Spring 2: Saturday, May 2- Monday, June 29, 2026 (no sessions 5/23-5/25).
  • Summer: Monday, July 6- Sunday, August 30, 2026.

Admission into programming is accepted on a rolling basis as space allows. Late enrollment will be prorated for the remaining number of lessons in the term. All participants benefit from direct horsemanship skill instruction. All mounted lesson fees include unmounted time for grooming and tacking or untacking the equine. Per our Cancellation Policy, there are no refunds for missed lessons.
