Equine Assisted Services & Horseback Riding

The Equestrian Center, in Bridgewater, Massachusetts, offers horseback and adaptive riding lessons, horsemanship, animal care programs, and pony playgroups.

Overview

The Equestrian Center offers a supportive atmosphere for traditional English riding lessons to beginner and experienced equestrians alike, as well as adaptive riding lessons for children and adults with disabilities. The sprawling stable also provides Hippotherapy, physical therapy using equine movement, on a weekly basis. The barn is open to the public six days a week, excluding Tuesdays. Year-round programming is available.

    Adaptive Carriage Driving for Ages 5+

    Adaptive Carriage Driving provides an accessible, empowering way to partner with a horse from a secure seated position; ideal for individuals who cannot, or prefer not to, ride mounted. Our program follows PATH Intl.–aligned safety practices and offers individualized, goal-based instruction.

    Animal Caretakers for Ages 18+

    Meet up with peers to learn how to care for the barn animals and to maintain their enclosures. Adult Caretaker programs are currently in session.

    Equine Enrichment Weeks

    Join us for school vacation weeks or select summer weeks to enjoy 1:1 horse time, design obstacle courses, create riding patterns to music, and even teach a horse a new skill!

    Monthly Veterans Horsemanship & Riding

    Through mindful mounted and unmounted activities with horses, participants can improve their ability to adapt, communicate, initiate, self-regulate, and trust.

The Equestrian Center is happy to provide a “give-one, take-one” equestrian apparel exchange. Please consider donating your participants gently used, untorn items to our Swap Shop in the Observation Room for the benefit of another participant. Due to safety precautions, the program does not accept used riding helmets.
